A Framework for Mooring and Anchor Design in Sand Considering Seabed Trenches Based on Floater Hydrodynamics

Seabed trenches reduce anchor capacity. However, the adverse influence is not considered in current design, and no guideline found engineering practice. This paper presents a framework for mooring design sand considering seabed based on floater hydrodynamics. First, hydrodynamic calculation of studied coupled with system was conducted. Then, potential trench profile assessed using line–seabed dynamic model. Third, after assessing suction performance its installation capacity, refined anchor, caisson–plate gravity (CPGA), proposed, capacity mechanisms were analyzed.
